      Product Review: Beech-Nut Baby Food

I had an opportunity to sample Beech-Nut's new line of baby food "real food for babies". it is all natural and amazing. I'm not going to lie, I personally tasted it and I am not ashamed to say it was delicious. I mean c'mon if I plan to make my baby eat it I should be okay to try it. That being said I love their new catch phrase:
" Because everybody deserves real food. Especially babies."
With my first child I wanted to make healthy choices but i wasn't too informed and therefore concerned with what other items were in her food. When I saw a jar of peas I assumed she was just eating peas. Not to say we no longer eat processed food I try to be more aware of it and make a more informed decision as to weather or not I am comfortable putting that on our plates. With a new baby I firmly believe healthy eating habits start once they try solid foods. With this philosophy in mind I want to make sure I give my baby every opportunity to taste healthy options with minimal to no added chemicals. Beech-Nut gives us this option. Max was 4 months old when he tried his first sampling. This was the first real introduction of solid foods and he enjoyed every minute of it. Now at one year old he still enjoys the fruit and veggie mixes and we still have a few on hand and have moved on to their on the go pouches and more "table" foods. We have yet encountered a "yucky" food.

The packaging is very appealing, and they use glass jars which is I personally prefer (mostly because I can re-purpose it for a craft, jam or something), but the peace of mind that it is BPA free is  major plus. Their new Gentle Cooking™ method allows for sealing in nutrients sometimes lost in traditional boiling methods. I am a very happy mom with this new line and for only $1.09 (SRP) totally affordable. Max's 1st Birthday

My poor baby. He is totally suffering from second child syndrome. With my first child we took her to get photograph every couple months, almost each holiday and planned a big shindig for her first birthday knowing full well she would never remember an of it. I took my son for his newborn pictures and that's about it. In my defense there are a lot more candid daily photos of him than I have of my daughter.
Anyways back to his birthday. We weren't going to do anything big. Probably cake just the four of us but somehow I was planning a family and friends dinner at my place. So my quite night of four turned into an eventful time of like twenty people in less than a week. Last minute I was decorating, finding food and renting tables.
I think everything turned out nice. First we chose Mickey Mouse as his theme because he LOVES the Hot Dog song, also because it would be easy to find stuff. My color pallet was red, yellow and black. Simple. Went to the discount store bought some table covers, streamers and plates poof I was almost done. I did some simple embellishments with ribbon, card stock and glue and voila themed place setting.
      Simple touches major effect!

Use what you already have. I made that birdhouse a couple of years ago and it served great as a centerpiece. I also pulled out some Vinyls, cute mugs and other knickknacks to add to the decor.

I decorated the cake table with photos, and favors. One thing I discovered that I thought was neat was a data poster. You can find them on Etsy in all sorts of designs, that include tidbits of your child. Great for a scrapbook or memory box.

Though the one thing I cant live with out is an awesome statement cake. It really ties the whole party together and again adds to the decor. This cake was made by Two Angel Kisses. They really were a godsend since i basically sent them a picture of the cake I wanted a day or two before I actually needed it. EEEK, my bad! They also did the cookies and everything was delicious.
So hopefully with these photos Max can look back and not feel completely over looked. Baby boy I promise I'll get better!

      Welcome!

Welcome to One 24/7 Mom! I'm a mother of two beautiful children. J who is turning 8 this week a total girly girl and I have so much fun with her. Max is the latest addition to our family turning one this past week; he is an energetic bouncy baby boy who I am sure has many adventures in store for us. My husband is a college math professor, and I am currently staying at home with the kiddos doing some freelance work. This is a new experience for me; so bare with me as I adjust to my new job at home with two kids! Eek! I hope it goes well.
My family and I  love all things Disney and we try to visit the parks several times a year, and watch our favorite movies over and over. I cant wait to share all the adventures in store for us.
On my blog you will read about my family (duh I know), Disney, DIY projects, money savers, and more! Hopefully you enjoy the posts and welcome to my journey...because a mom's job never ends even when the sun goes down!
